چکیده
Background: Chronic Pain following Spinal Surgery (CPSS), formerly known as Failed Back Syndrome, is characterised by persistent or recurring back pain leg occurring beyond three months post spinal surgery (TLIF/PLIF) CPSS patients experience significant functional disability and report a lower quality of life compared to individuals with other chronic conditions. The objective this study compare the advantages, safety, mid-term effects fluoroscopy-guided transforaminal (TF) epidural steroid injection (ESI) caudal (CA) in experiencing after (CPSS). aims assess effectiveness relief improvement functionality resulting from these two approaches.Materials Methods: This was retrospective that included 30 who underwent (CESI) for diagnosis between April 2022 December 2022.The frequencies complications, adverse events, treatment effects, improvements were procedures follow up period 6 months. Results: Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores demonstrated both groups at period, without meaningful difference groups. Patients TFESI group had an ODI score average 18.1 ranging 16 22, while CESI averaged 18.7 12 22. amount time used procedure shorter than group. All happy outcome. Conclusion: results present indicate cervical interlaminar (TFESI) are equally effective reducing improving function radicular pain. less discomfort during higher satisfaction CA approach. Both methods effective, but approach tends provide better patient time.

The Effectiveness of Transforaminal Versus Caudal Routes for Epidural Steroid Injections in Managing Lumbosacral Radicular Pain
Epidural steroid injection (ESI) is one of the most commonly used treatments for radiculopathy. Previous studies have described the effectiveness of ESI in the management of radiculopathy. However, controversy exists regarding the route that is most beneficial and effective with respect to the administration of epidural steroids, as both transforaminal (TF) and caudal (C) routes are commonly us...
متن کاملEffectiveness of therapeutic lumbar transforaminal epidural steroid injections in managing lumbar spinal pain.
BACKGROUND Among the multiple interventions used in managing chronic spinal pain, lumbar epidural injections have been used extensively to treat lumbar radicular pain. Among caudal, interlaminar, and transforaminal, transforaminal epidural injections have gained rapid and widespread acceptance for the treatment of lumbar and lower extremity pain. The potential advantages of transforaminal over ...
متن کاملCaudal epidural steroid injections.
The caudal approach to the epidural space was first reported in 1901. Injection of steroids to treat low back pain was introduced in 1952. Caudal epidural steroid injection is a safe, effective technique when performed with appropriate care under fluoroscopic visualization. Caudal epidural injections are associated with inaccurate needle placement when performed blindly in a substantial number ...
متن کاملComparison of Radiation Exposure during Fluoroscopy-Guided Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injections at Different Vertebral Levels
OBJECTIVE To estimate and compare radiation exposure during transforaminal fluoroscopy-guided epidural steroid injection (TFESI) at different vertebral levels. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fluoroscopy-guided TFESI was performed in 181 patients. The patients were categorized into three groups according to the injected lumbosacral nerve level of L2-4, L5, or S1. Fluoroscopy time (FT) and dose area pro...

(TFESIs) play an important role in the conservative treatment of the symptoms of neck pain with a radicular component secondary to cervical herniated intervertebral disc (HIVD) or spinal stenosis (1-3). Although some investigators have reported no serious complications resulting from the use of cervical TFESIs, recent reports emphasize the risks of this procedure, including a high incidence of ...
